So, I had sex right after my period ended (oct 30) and it was unprotected. I got a little paranoid (even though I think he did not came inside me) and took the next choice pill the next day.. followed all the instructions. but now, six days later i am bleeding seems like a menstruation. What is this? is this going to be menstruation for the month of November? My next due date is 21/22. Am I going to get my period by then? I am kind of freaking out. help please.

It may take longer for your periods to become regular. Emergency contraceptives contain much higher doses of the hormones found in certain birth control pills. It is not wise to subject your body to these high doses at such frequent intervals.

Hi,
No, this doesn't mean that you are pregnant because you took Next Choice within 8 hours. You can expect menstrual changes such as spotting or bleeding prior to a period. Your next period could be heavier or lighter, or earlier or later. If your period is more than a week late, you should get a pregnancy test and follow up with your healthcare provider. According to the Next Choice website:
Next Choice should only be used infrequently when emergency protection is needed. If you require emergency contraception more often, please consult with your healthcare professional for guidance in birth control and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

Thanx you Rosa is the bleeding good chance of not being pregnant? Also I took next choice in April could that be dangerous. Taking twice so close together?

Bleeding is just a side effect of Next Choice, it's not a very good indicator of whether or not you could be pregnant. However, Next Choice is very effective when taken a few hours after having unprotected sex so that should help ease your mind. It won't harm you to have taken Next Choice close together but remember that it isn't meant to be used as birth control but as an emergency contraceptive. In the future, you may consider birth control pills or condoms to avoid having to rely on Next Choice.

All the best,

Rosa
