Hello, i was recently on an antibiotic that started a yeast infection while on my period. During this time while washing i noticed 4 bumps on my labia, 2 on each side, about the size ofa pea if not smaller. It has been a week now and one is quite sore and "burns" at times. I've been with the same partner for 8years so do not forsee it being an std. There is no head. Ive tried hot water soaks to see if it will bring a head up but nothing has shown. I can't get in with my physician for 2wks. Should I go to a walk in to get checked? What could this be?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for seeking our help with your concern.

It is possible that the bumps are vaginal cysts. They form when a gland or duct becomes clogged. Cysts are more likely to cause pain when they get infected. Vaginal cysts can become infected by the normal bacteria found on the skin or by a sexually transmitted infection.

Try sitting in a bathtub filled with a few inches of warm water several times a day for three or four days.

If the cysts increase in size, become pus filled, or the pain increases, call you physician to be seen sooner, or visit a walk in urgent care clinic.

Regards,
Maryann
