I had sex three months ago, and I have had two periiods since. I have a period two weeks after I lost my virginity, and then another one a month later, that one was exceptionally heavy. But this month I have not. Well not yet. It was due this week but they aren't 100% regular cause I'm only 16. Do you think I could be pregnant. I am so worried because if I am I'd be like 3 months pregnant. and I've just started my a levels so I'm stressing about them too. But if I go to doctors its hard to get to them because I live in a village in countryside with no shops. I'm stressing so much. Can any of you offer me some help or advice? Thank you.

Hello Anonymous,

There should not have been a risk for pregnancy if you use protection.

Abdominal pain and leg pain are not signs of early pregnancy. If the pain continues, your wife should consult her primary care physician.

How old is your wife? Have her menstrual cycle been regular?

Maryann

She is 24 years. This month her bleeding started, but in a different way. She had a blood drop on first day, followed by pain, cramps and light bleeding on second day, she had little bit soreness in her nipples too. And on third day she had heavy bleeding. is she fine?

Hello Anonymous,

If your girlfriend's period for February is late by at least one week, she should take a home pregnancy test. That is the sure way to know if she is pregnant.

That intercourse which we had was a protected one with a condom. But both of us were new to it. Is there any other symptom to find about her pregnancy?

Hi Anonymous,

Since you have not had sex since November 2, I do not think you haven't had a period since late November is because of pregnancy.
Your menstrual cycle may have been disrupted because of taking Plan B. Check with your gynecologist.

Maryann

Hi Anonymous,

Since you have had your period and not had sexual intercourse since your last period, there is no chance that you are pregnant. However, you must use some type of birth control to prevent pregnancy in the future. An emergency contraceptive is not to be used as regular birth control, only in an emergency.

Maryann
