While fertility starts to diminish after 35, getting pregnant at 38 isn't a problem for many people. Problems tend to come when a woman is over 40.  Many women don't even start families until they are over 35 these days. 

However, it you are 38 and wanting to conceive, you need to start trying as soon as possible.
