Hi 12.14.08,
I'm not sure why you stopped taking birth control. When your pills get "messed up," you can throw away the pack and start a new one--be extra diligent about remembering to take your pills, and use a back-up method of birth control to ensure you won't put yourself at unnecessary risk.

Try to relax with those symptoms and don't over-analyze, as Missy said. I know it can be nerve-wracking, but you always can take a pregnancy test to verify if you're simply missing your period (it's late), or if you're pregnant.
Take care.

12.14.08,
Are you pregnant would be hard to answer with your symptoms and without a missed period. Your symptoms could either mean pregnancy or your going to start your period. They are very similar. The best thing for you to do is wait until you miss a period, then try a pregnancy test.

I hope this helps. Keep us updated.

Hi 12.14.08,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Anytime you forget to take your pills and have sex, you risk getting pregnant. Most doctors recommend using a backup birth control method (condom, spermicide, withdrawal) when taking antibiotics.

Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.
