I'm taking Doxycycline because of chlamydia & on day5 I found blood blister on my gum near my wisdom teeth (which is coming out). Can this be side effect of doxycycline?

Hello CynthiaNyeint

Thank you for writing.

Ironically, the medication you are on is also used for gum disease.

Your symptoms are considered a side effect of doxycycline. There are many other side effects, from vaginal discharge to heart problems to pretty severe stomach upset/diarrhea. These are considered more serious side effects, along with any kind of blistering. Therefore it's very important to call your doctor about this today. Please don't put it off. You may need to cease this medication immediately and be put on something else.
Please keep us posted-
