ask: fasting iron blood test

Was suppossed 2 get this done 2 months ago after blood test results came back, not able 2 get back me sick, wanes sick etc anyway ive had a period every 2 weeks since, lots of clots

Hello Anonymous,

It is very important that you have the blood test done. Do not delay.
If I understand correctly, you have had a period every two weeks, with lots of clots, for over two months.

The blood loss from frequent menstruation leads to iron deficiency anemia.
Iron-deficiency anemia occurs because of a lack of the mineral iron in the body. Bone marrow in the center of the bone needs iron to make hemoglobin, the part of the red blood cell that transports oxygen to the body's organs. Without adequate iron, the body cannot produce enough hemoglobin for red blood cells.

With the results of a blood test and iron level, your physician can prescribe treatment, specifically iron supplementation.
