I am suffering from Gastric & Ulcer. Do it leads to Cancer? As my father & grand maa has suffered from Stomach Cancer (Pancreatic Cancer). Endoscopy has done to me on 07.02.2013. In that report there mild gastrics & 0.3 X 0.3 CM Active Ulcer. Is it to be dangerous or serious to my health? Kindly help your advice.

Gastric Ulcers can be very painful but this does not mean that they will lead to cancer.
Causes of Ulcers:
Upsets in the balance of stomach acid and digestive juices can lead to an ulcer. This can be caused by:
- Bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) —common cause
- Use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)—blocks the body's ability to protect the stomach lining; common cause
- Diseases that cause acid production to increase, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Stomach cancer and pancreatic cancer and not the same thing but both can be linked with the h pylori bacterium as well as other factors like alcohol abuse, smoking, stress and family history, among other factors.
