I'm taking up Diane 35 and I missed 1 pill in week 1 (5th day) but took it right away at same time as the next pill. My problem is that I had sex the night I missed the pill. What are the possibilities of getting pregnant?

Hi saw this post.. Was just wondering if you can help me in my confusion. My wife missed her pill on a friday (16th pill) which was due 11pm. She took it immediately when she remembered it saturday around 4pm together with the pill for the day which supposed to be for 11pm that day. Then we had intercourse sunday (unprotected) and she took her normal dose for sunday on 11pm again. I wonder if she was unsafe or no. Its her second pack already. Thanks in advance..

I missed a pill on my 3rd week. I am about 5 days away from finishing my pack when I remembered I missed my day 15th of taking Diane 35. So I took it at the same time I took my 16th pill. And had unprotected contact the same day. Whats the probability of getting pregnant?

I have just been back to using Diane 35 after maybe 2 years without taking it. I recently just finished my first cycle after taking my first set of pills. On the second day of my period (also supposedly my first day to start a new set of Diane 35), i had sex and also missed taking the first pill. For my second pill i took it about 12 hours late. Is there a possibility to get pregnant? I have PCOS, by the way.

Hi Anonymous,

There is a chance because you missed one pill, however, it's a slight possibility and chances are that if you resumed taking your pills as indicated, then you have nothing to worry about.

I hope this helps,

Rosa

Hi Anonymous,

Any time you start on an emergency contraceptive, you should wait at least two weeks before having sex without a backup method of protection. Although you may have been protected by your pill, there is still a chance of pregnancy. If you suspect that you may be pregnant then you can test for pregnancy two weeks after having unprotected sex.

Good Luck,

Rosa

Hi Anonymous,

You can start another packet just remember to take your pills at the same time every day--if you do, then it's safe to have sex with your husband on the 18th :)
