Is it normal to miss a period after taking plan b?

My LMP was Dec 9th and on Dec 12th (saturday)I had unprotected sex and took plan B. I took one pill that evening and I took the second pill late, i took it 15 hours later insetead of 12. In fear that the pill did not work I took another dose on Monday. I started to bleed exactly one week after taking the first pill on saturday Dec 19th, I've read that the bleeding could be "withdrawl" bleeding. Is it possible to ovulate again after having the withdrawl period?
My period is now late. I took 3 pregnancy tests this week and they all come back negative. Could it be that I will NOT get my period this month because I took 2 plan b pills in 3 days. I will also mention that I've been stressed out since having unprotected sex but I don't think i can relax until i get my period. Pleae help!!

Hey! So me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex 9 days ago. My period ended around the 6th of august. he said he pulled out (which i know doesnt always work) but just to be safe we went and got plan b the next day. I should start my period tomorrow (august 28th) but im sooo worried that i might be pregnant. my stomach feels kinda bloated today but i read somewhere that you cant tell the difference between pms cramps and pregnancy cramps. and im so scared. does plan b delay your period? please give me some advice!

Ladybug,

Plan B has many side effects which includes an early or late period, lower abdomen pain etc. Please read through all of its side effects thoroughly here: http://www.planbonestep.com/plan-b-faq.aspx

No one knows if you are pregnant or not as it has only been 9 days.

Good Luck to you,

Rosa

Hi i had my period june 16th-21st and had sex on the 23rd of june. Unfortunately the condom broke so I went to the store and took next choice 3 hours after it happened. About a week after taking it I bled for 2 days. It is now june 19th and i still havent gotten my period, I was extremely nervous since I normally have a regular period. I took a pregnancy test on the 17th and it came back negative but i am still worried, do you think i could be pregnant?

Hi Anon,

You may be getting your period next week since Next Choice caused a period a week after taking it. If Next Choice did its job then you have nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, it causes changes in your period that makes women worry but if you took a pregnancy test on the 17th then you may be in the clear. A more accurate test would have been if you took it next week-- but only do this if you haven't had your period by June 29.

Best Wishes,

Rosa

Thank you, I hope so. I should have been ovulating around the time that i started to bleed, so if it most likely was my period then would that mean i ovulated again 14 days later? I am so confused. I just don't know what to think. I think i'm obsessing over my situation.

Try to relax. Stop thinking about it and keep us posted when you get your period.

Dear Anon,

Thank you for your post. Plan B commonly changes the pattern in your period. So, when you got your period shortly after taking plan B that was likely to be your period for the month. Some women will bleed a week after then again when their period is due while others will completely miss their regularly scheduled period. Try not to worry about this too much remember that stress is also a factor in missing your period. I'm very hopeful that you'll be getting your period next month and that plan B was in fact effective.

Good Luck!
