One Day Late Start On The Pill . Please Help !

Hello ,

I've been on BCP for about a year now. I supposed to start my new pack last Friday
(January 28th) but I forgot it , so I took 2 pills the next day. Today (February 3rd) is the sixth
day of my BCP and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend.

Am I at the high risk of getting pregnant ? I've missed a pill before but never a late start.
I am very worried right now.

Thank you for your reply.

Regards ,
Dina

Hi Dina,
Thanks for your question and for joining EmpowHER. If you just started your pack late, but have been taking it regularly since then, you should be ok. Try to be extra diligent this month about not forgetting to take it.

Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.

Hi Christine

Yes , I've been taking the pill regularly. I'm worried because I've read articles about one day late start on the pill , and most of the articles suggest that we should use other form of BC for the next 7 days. The articles also said that a late start is the most risky thing when a woman is on the pill. That's why I'm really worried , cause I've never had a late start before. Anyway , thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it.

Regards ,
Dina
