Hello ProHealthGirl21,

Thank you so much for sharing this great information with EmpowHer! I have a good friend who is insulin resistant and she is also really into natural remedies and supplements so I will pass this post along to her. I believe she takes alpha lipoic acid as well as some other herbs, vitamins, and minerals and her test scores always come back completely perfect with no medications or anything. I know she's also talked about chromium picolinate too and she wants to look into cinnamon capsules. I had no idea that cinnamon could help with blood sugar until my friend told me. Have you heard that as well?

I admire you for looking into other ways to help treat your Type 2 diabetes. What types of things are you doing that have worked for you? Best in health, Michelle

Michelle,
It was really nice to hear from you. Yes... I believe taking a natural approach to managing type 2 diabetes (or in preventing it!) is definitely the way to go. I've done a lot of research and, of course, a proper diet (i.e. low-carb, low-glycemic foods, quality protein - mainly fish - and healthy fats, as found in the Mediterranean Diet) along with regular exercise is crucial. Also, I support taking dietary supplements and have found a high-quality product called Glucocil (you can do a search for it as it is available to order) works well in controlling post-meal blood sugar spikes (it contains several key ingredients like mulberry and alpha lipoic acid). And, yes, I've heard that cinnamon works in overall blood sugar control (vs. post-meal BS spikes).
Thanks again! ProHealthGirl21

I must say that It is really big issue of Diabetics. It is really big tragedy. we should aware of it and should take quick action on that. Thank you very much for calling attention to a very important issue. To control asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stones in kidney we should take mixed fruit juice at least weekly twice. And mint leaves in the juice helps in better digestion. It is a refreshing drink with different flavor and taste with mint leaves.Yoga creates balance in the body through various poses that develop flexibility and strength.
