Hello am Jo christy, the number of colonics differs from person to person and it is purely depending on the issues facing by the individual and his health. Though the individual colonics have their own benefits, if had a series of the therapies can definitely improve the individual’s colon health. About 10 – 15 colonics are suggested by the therapists to the individuals unless he/she doesn’t have any chronic issues. A colonic is done once a week. Colonics is effective when accompanied with a healthy diet and workouts which are specified by the therapist. The international Association of Colon Hydrotherapy recommends doing 10 colonics a year.

Hi, after colon irrigation one should go with healthy eating habits and with regular exercises, rather than the person cannot feel the impact of irrigation. 50 years and elder people may go with colon irrigation once in a decade. Colon irrigation has some disadvantages too; it may cause the imbalance in the colonic part of the intestine.

Hello Cytheria, I agree with you partially about the facts of colon irrigation regarding the diet habits and workouts. Though there are some disadvantages using the colon irrigation therapy taking some precautions we can expect these disadvantages don’t occur. Things like probiotic foods should be ingested to decrease the imbalance caused in the natural flora of gut due to colonics. Though the person may suffer with loss of electrolytes he can be benefitted with the advantages in the long run such as loss of toxins, debris which are not eliminated etc. Personally I’m I favor of this therapy.

Basically I too prefer the colon cleansing methods, but because of these small disadvantages I prefer to go with healthy diet and exercises only. By god's grace still now I haven't experienced any major colon health risks to attend the colon irrigation.

Thanks for sharing a good post on the board. Well you have missed some good points in the article. The apparatus through which the water is passed into the rectum is known as the “Speculum”. Also it would be good if you have posted the side effects and the perils which can occur due to the colon irrigation. Myself I do not support this therapy as I strongly believe the quote “prevention is better than cure”. Though you missed some crucial points, I appreciate your efforts of publishing an informative post on web.
