I have also written the book called “Vitamin D3 and Solar Power for Optimal Health,” which is probably the most comprehensive book ever written on the subject.
That is according to lifestyle, but if a person is staying totally out of the sunlight and not getting vitamin D that way, then that person is going to need generally in the winter, at least 5000 International Units a day. That would be for a man. For a woman, closer to about 4000 International Units per day to achieve optimal health and also optimal levels of vitamin D for that health.
