Dr. Harner:
The potential problem in a PCL deficient knee, that would be the one that had injured the PCL and didn’t heal completely, is that you can get arthritis over time, and that can happen. And so as a clinician, what do I try to do? I try to determine how unstable the knee is and then I get x-rays, and occasionally I have to get some other studies such as an MRI. And sometimes you can see the arthritis forming, and so, that’s the potential risk of a PCL injured knee is you can get arthritis over time.
