VIDEO: Dr. Hilkovitz - Higher Cancer Risk In Diabetics, Why Is This?

January 8, 2009 - 4:25pm 243 reads 0 comments

Dr. Hilkovitz explains why diabetics may have a higher cancer risk than others.

Dr. Hilkovitz:
It's higher than normal because during the prediabetic phase, diabetics have hyper-insulinism, too much insulin, and insulin is a growth factor, and they feel that under the influence of insulin, certain cells take off and grow abnormally, and this is one of the bases for cancer formation, but I am sure there are other factors as well.

About Dr. Hilkovitz, M.D., B.Ch.:
Dr. Gabriel Hilkovitz has been in private practice for 51 years working in internal medicine, primary care, with an emphasis in diabetes and works in connection with the Arizona Heart Institute.
