I believe that leading a fit and healthy life can do wonders to clear your mind, sharpen your focus and strengthen your soul. When I was in my 20's I weighed 30 pounds more than I do now (in my mid 30's). Losing that 30 pounds wasn't easy. I had to change my habits and make some significant lifestyle changes.
My journey first began about 8 years ago with a change in my exercise habits. I wasn't motivated and needed to find something to give me a jump start. So I started taking Martial Arts based fitness classes with Corpbasics. It was fun, motivating and kept me in a routine. I immediately started to see a change in my body and my attitude. I looked forward to working out and that was a key factor in my success. About 2 years into I was so inspired that I decided to make a career move. I became certified as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. I've never been happier. I absolutely love working with people and guiding them towards a healthier, more fit lifestyle.
My next big change involved proper diet and nutrition. A few years ago I eliminated processed foods from my diet, began eating whole foods and more vegetables and I have never felt better. The biggest change I noticed was that I was able to digest food better. I rarely get a stomach ache these days. I also have a lot more engery.
What I learned over these past 8 years is that nothing happens over night. It took me a good 4 years to get to where I wanted to be. Being successful in health and wellness is all about making gradual lifestyle changes. Once I realized this, it all became second nature. Here I am today healthy as ever, feeling great, inspiring others and loving life.
