Hello Anonymous,

I am not familiar with the emergency contraceptive pill IDOZ 72. From my internet search, it appears to be available in India. I did find this , "Side effects include late period & irregular cycle (MOST COMMON), nausea, vomiting, hormonal imbalance, abdominal cramp, breast tenderness, improper ovulation, weight gain and headache." from Dr. Soumen Patra.

I do not think taking this pill once will have any impact on your ability to conceive in the future or any negative impact on a future pregnancy.

However, since I do not know you, your medical history or have any knowledge about IDOZ 72, I suggest you discuss your concerns with your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

You will know if the emergency contraceptive worked and that you are not pregnant if you have vaginal bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill.

Thank u madam for the reply.

With regards to my medical history I do not have any issues. I am 24 year old. The chemist said it was the only available contraceptive and was of a good brand.
Still as u suggest I will speak to a gynecologist. P

Hello Anonymous,

No, there is no need to speak with a gynecologist since you do not have any condition that would affect fertility . Taking an emergency contraceptive once poses no problem to getting pregnant in the future.

Maryann

Hello ma'm

I am worried as I haven't got my periods yet.
My first periods after the pill was a week early. And this time its extended by 5-6 days today.
Is this normal?
By when will this get normal.

Regards.

Hello Anonymous,

Try to relax. I cannot tell you exactly when your menstrual cycle will return to normal. If you do not get a period at all this month, then talk with your doctor, because the emergency contraceptive may have caused a hormonal imbalance.
