My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

Thank you so much. Well, I am on birth control too and I'm supposed to start today. I'm scared that my period won't come because I'm already on my3-4 pill on my pack. And usually I start on thursdays.

I totally understand. But Plan B does affect menstrual periods, so I don't think this is overly worrisome. You may not start at all, or you may start in a few days. If you get too stressed about it, take a HPT, ok?

hi i have a question. my gf and i had sex then the next day she took a plan b pill then 1 week later she had her period. and now which is the 3rd week since she had her period. she is having brownish spotting. could this be implantation bleeding or some old blood from her last period? cause we're both freaking out right now

Hi,
Bleeding is actually a good sign! When a woman has menstrual bleeding, it means she is not pregnant. There is no such thing as "old blood" from a period from 3 weeks prior. Actually, woman's menstrual periods can be many different colors: brown, pink or red, and these are all normal. Brown spotting can be the beginning of her period, or can be something called "breakthrough bleeding" that happens in-between periods. Breakthrough bleeding is not anything to worry about, as it can occur after taking hormonal contraceptives or emergency contraceptive (Plan B), the only "bad" thing about it is that it makes it confusing to know when your girlfriend's "real" period will begin. But, there is nothing harmful about it.

Implantation bleeding is such a misnomer; it is more akin to spotting where there is literally a spot of blood from the fertilized egg implanting in the uterus that occurs once, and happens around the time of an expected period. Most women do not even notice it, as it is that slight. When a woman is actively spotting...more than just once during the day...this is the start of a period or breakthrough bleeding/spotting.

Plan B can cause menstrual irregularities, so your gf may not have a regular period for a cycle or two. Also normal and not harmful.

Have you two discussed your birth control options, so that you both aren't freaking out again? It sounds very stressful! Condoms, when used consistently and correctly every time, are up to 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. The pill and other hormonal contraceptives are up to 99% effective when used correctly. We are happy to talk more about birth control options when you are ready.

In the meantime, your girlfriend will need to wait until the time she expects her next period (about 2 weeks after unprotected sex) to know if she is pregnant or not; either her period will begin, or she can take a home pregnancy test.

It is difficult to say what you are experiencing, and only time will tell.

Anytime you have unprotected sex, especially multiple times, there is an increased chance of pregnancy. Taking Plan B is not a birth control method; it only helps decreases chances of pregnancy once your primary form of birth control fails (ie, you forget to take a pill).

When taking Plan B, it can "cause" your periods to be irregular for a cycle or two, as it is a mega dose of hormones in one (or two) pills. It is difficult to know exactly when your period will begin, as it can begin early or late.

If you've had your period within the last 21-35 days, then wait another week and use a home pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant or not. Please let us know the results, as we can help either way.

I am not sure how old you are, but I hope you are seeing your Gynecologist once/year for an annual exam since you are sexually active, and please talk with your doctor about your options for birth control. We are also happy to talk with you about your options. Condoms are also a great option, so that you do not have the stress of wondering if you are pregnant or not, as the more often you have unprotected sex, the more likely your chances of pregnancy are..please be safe and take care of yourself!

You can take a home pregnancy test, since your period is late. Please know that a sideveffectbof taking Pl an B is menstrual irregularity, meaning younperiod can br early or later than you expect for a cycle or two.

Does this help?

Hi!
Ok I have some concerns and would love answers/advice!

On May 7 (about 4-5 days after my last period had ended) my boyfriend and I were just fooling around (and he was not wearing a condom, which is rare because we always use one) Well he accidentally came just a bit (not fully) and then immediately pulled out. I took an EC about 5 hours after the incident, and took the 2nd pill 12 hours later on the dot. Well 5 days later on May 12, i started bleeding and it lasted about 5 days and seeming to be just like my normal period! The weird thing is that i was not supposed to start my period again until the last week of the month, so like May 28th. Also towards the end of this bleeding (period?) My breast became tender and a bit swollen, and still are. I was wondering is there a chance i could be pregnant? When should i expect my next period? And why did i start bleeding so early after my last period, and then have breast tenderness following???
It has been worrying me sick, and any advice would help greatly!!! Thanks!
