My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

I recently took the plan b onestep, but have yet to get my period. It's only been 2 days! How long does it really take?
Fri. @ 11:30 pm (unprotected) , Sun @ 9:20 am (plan b)
I use an app on my phone to track my cycle. It showed fertile on Fri & Sat, but ovulating on Sun. Next cycle upcoming in two weeks. Please help. I can't sleep...

Plan B does not cause your period to come early, but it may cause some spotting. It is the same hormones as birth control pills, just so you know what you are taking...and birth control pills don't "cause" a period to come, either (does that make sense?)

So, it will take a few weeks until your expected period comes, so hopefully you can sleep easy until then. Also know, that your period may be irregular this cycle, so it may come earlier or later...this is normal and don't lose sleep over it if your period is a few days late!

Hello.
Me and my boyfriend had sex two weeks ago we used a condom and I was on birth control.. But when we we're done (after he cummed, he went to pull out and the condom slipped off inside me.
Since then I have been worried..
I had my "period" so I think, but it was lighter and lasted shorter then normal.
I have been having cramps, and headaches for two days straight.
So I guess the real question is, Do you think I'm pregnant..
Please reply back..

I took plan B three weeks ago. Since, I have gained weight. I am struggling to stop gaining it. I haven’t gained weight in over 15 years. My body has stayed the same. I know I have read articles where the experts deny weight gain. However it is bothersome. Can you tell me if it is temporary? I am not pregnant; I had a heavy period two weeks ago. My stomach looks bloated and I am a type of person to gain weight on my hips first. Help!

i have a question, i am on birth control and i missed one pill this month and doubled up the next day. i asked my doctor and she said that its important to take it every day but you can miss one and double up and still be fine as long as you dont miss any more. then 2 days before my blue pills (the hormone pills) were supposed to run out, i had unprotected sex, my boy friend bought the next choice pills and had me take them, and i did. i took the first pill 12 hours after the unprotected sex. the next day i doubled up on my birth control pills to be sure and finish them. i should have started my period on saturday the 27th but it is now monday the 29th and i still haven't gotten it. im very nervous that the next choice didn't work properly.

Please read the information from Planned Parenthood, as you may need a "birth control make-over"! (Sorry if that was cheesy, but as you can see from this chart, your two forms of birth control are at the lowest as far as effectiveness from pregnancy!)

There are so many options for birth control, and using a spermicide (VCF) is not very effective when used alone. You can make it more effective with using the "pull out" or withdrawal method, female condom or hormonal contraception ("the pill").

So you know:
Perfect use for spermicide: 85% effective at preventing pregnancy each year
Typical use for spermicide: 71% effective at preventing pregnancy each year

This compares to perfect use of a condom (98% effective) and birth control pills (99% effective).

The other birth control method you used, the "pull out" method, also is not the most reliable at preventing pregnancy when used alone:
Perfect use for Withdrawal method: 96% effective at preventing pregnancy every year
Typical use for Withdrawal method: 73% effective
** and, please note, the withdrawal method is usually about 73% with couples who are not always using this method, as it takes much skill and practice with each other.

To answer your question: Your last period was August 20th, and you want to know if the light blood you see today is your period? It depends on so many factors: when are you expecting your next period? (Women's cycles range from 21-35 days in length or between the first day of each period). Taking Plan B can alter when your next period begins.

If you continue bleeding and you do not believe it is your menstrual cycle, please write back or call your doctor.

And, you probably want to call your doctor to talk about your birth control options, so you can make the best choices for your sexual health!

Hi Anonymous,
Please be aware that typically bleeding means you are not pregnant. It is very common to get bleeding after taking emergency contraception (I-pill).
For more information, please review this article: Emergency Contraception Update, 2010.
