Vanessa explains if her relationship with food has altered since having gastric bypass surgery.
Everybody has one thing in common; that’s food. People give foods as gift, and it’s just like social gatherings are around food and drinks, and you know, it’s just always there. And before I was like, it was there, you know, it was there for me. When I felt bad I would eat; when I was anxious I would eat; when I was happy I would eat. So it was just like instead of like putting my energy into something else, I would put it into that and any type of energy that I would have would go towards that.
I think now it’s just different. It’s like I know it’s there, I know I need it, but it’s not like I have to have it. You know what I mean?
