Dr. Alinsod shares how long a woman can expect to recover from the vaginoplasty procedure.

Dr. Alinsod:
With a vaginoplasty, the recovery time is also between six to eight weeks. Vaginal skin just takes that long to heal. I see places on the websites that say that you can recover from vaginoplasty within a couple of weeks or so, but that’s just not true because it takes vaginal skin approximately six weeks to heal up together and soften up with time. So a pelvic reconstruction, whether you are doing a bladder prolapse repair, a rectal seal repair, or even a hysterectomy or a vaginoplasty, they all take about six weeks to heal.
