Well, the term vaginal rejuvenation is a fairly new term, that is, it’s not a medical term but a more of descriptive term that’s been used by the media quite a bit. The general public has caught on to this term, and with shows like ”Dr. 90210” and others, vaginal rejuvenation has been identified as a procedure to retighten a woman’s vagina after having had childbirth or birth trauma so that the vaginal vault is back to its original size and diameter.

So vaginal rejuvenation really is a lay term and the more accurate term used by surgeons would be a vaginoplasty.

Dr. Red Alinsod, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., A.C.G.E., graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, in 1986 and completed his OB/GYN residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1990. He was the first Rutledge Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer and Tumor Institute and was also selected as a Galloway Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center.
