Vaginal reconstruction is a specialized field of gynecology where mostly urogynecologists and some general GYN surgeons are involved in reconstructing a pelvis, a woman’s pelvis that may have been damaged from childbirth, obesity, chronic cough, and results in a prolapse or a falling down of pelvic organs such as the bladder, the rectum, even the uterus can fall down.
So we rebuild the whole entire pelvic structure so that it’s in the condition it was before, hopefully before she had babies.

Dr. Red Alinsod, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., A.C.G.E., graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, in 1986 and completed his OB/GYN residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1990. His focus in those early years was pelvic surgery. He was the first Rutledge Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer and Tumor Institute and was also selected as a Galloway Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center.
