Kidney Disease: Do You Still Have Concerns?

Sharon:

Well now that I am into my dialysis treatment now about a year and a half I no longer have fears. I don’t have fears because I realize that this machine is my kidneys, you know, they are my kidneys. It is my kidney and it is helping me. It is releasing the toxins from my body and it is what keeps me alive and keeps me healthy, and I of course had fears like others and those fears have been diminished now from when I first got it; when I first realized I had it and didn’t want it in my life. I was afraid of the machine. The things I would think about were the blood coming out and then going back in and my whole life is on that machine, but when you feel better afterwards and you realize that that machine is your life, it’s easier to deal with.
