Taghy,

So glad you found EmpowHER!

One of the things that is important when you are trying to lose weight is that you figure out what works for YOU and YOUR nature and YOUR life. That way it's easier to stick to it.

For instance, do you like certain kinds of exercise more than others? Do you like exercising by yourself or with others? Are you the kind of person who wants things as simple as can be? Your answers to those questions might help you know whether you would do better in an exercise class, swimming or just walking out your front door and around your neighborhood.

Do you love music? Then work it into your workout, and you'll enjoy it more.

Are you a person who cooks for yourself or others, or do you eat mostly packaged or takeout food? Are you on the go all day, or do you have some down time? Your answers to those questions might help you realize that you need to pack a lunch instead of eating fast food, or that you need to find a salad bar you can hit on the way home three times a week to get your fresh veggies into your diet.

What motivates you the most? Is it getting into those skinnier jeans? Is it the way you will look for an event in the future? Is it the way you used to feel when you were leaner and healthier? Find a way to remind yourself of that motivation. If it's a piece of clothing, hang it up somewhere where you will see it all the time and let it encourage you to stick with it. If it's an event, put a photo of the event on your refrigerator so you'll be reminded of what you want. See where I'm taking this?

It's got to be about you. What were the things that helped you succeed the most when you lost the 7 kg?

taghy,

Do you have any friends that you can have as your "workout and diet" buddy? It is always a lot easier to have another person do this with you so that when one of you is feeling like breaking the habit or "cheating" the diet, the other can motivate them to continue eating well and exercising. If you don't have anyone to do this with, you can join an online group such as http://www.nutridiary.com/ which has a free food and exercise journal. This site also includes a community forum where there are others, like you, interested in losing weight and staying motivated.

Remember, the key to losing weight is a balance of diet AND exercise. If you fin yourself eating too much food consider eating every 2-3 hours to decrease the hunger.

Breakfast should be the biggest meal of your day and dinner the smallest. I hope that site helps you and many others out! Good Luck
