I had my period that finished last week and 2 days later I have sore breasts, back pain, heart burn, feeling tired and can smell things more .Can I still be pregnant and thought I had a period but it wasn't ? I have a 1 year old who when I carried him from finding out till I had him 7 months I bled every time I went to the loo they said my placenta was low . What do I do? Shall I take a test or wait a while? Or could it be something else?

Hello Anonymous,

You will not conceive on the days you were menstruating.

You have a better chance if you have unprotected intercourse during what is called the fertile window, which is five days before and on the day of ovulation.

I am concerned that you are noticing bleeding only when you urinate.

Some medications, such as the laxative Ex-lax, and certain foods, including beets, rhubarb and berries, can cause your urine to turn red. However, blood in the urine looks distinctly different.

Please contact your primary care physician. Blood in the urine can indicate a urinary tract infection,, kidney infection, and/or a kidney stone.

I just wanted to let u no that yes some women can get pregnant when on their period. I got pregnant with both my girls on my last day. Women ovulate at different times. Not every women ovulates 10 days after their period. Mine is while i am at the end of my period.

I had my period two weeks ago. I had sex once but he pulled out after he finished and it was protected no issues. Then I had sex again last week protected but he didn't finish at all. Since last week I have been having lower abdomenal cramps/pain. Am I pregnant or is it something else?

Hello Anonymous,

If your next period is late by at least seven days, take a pregnancy test. That is the only way to know.

The abdominal pain and cramping could be gastrointestinal related, such as a stomach virus or bad reaction to something you ate. Should you develop other symptoms such as diarrhea, fever or the pain worsens, call your doctor.

A week to a week and a half maybe even two weeks, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, I knew I was going to start my period so so I got nervous, he didn't "finish" inside of me, but pre cum is obviously there. So it rolls around when I was supposed to have my period, and I was late, I'd say about a week late, but I'm thinking maybe because I was stressing over the fact I might be pregnant because I was a day late. Finally my period came, lasted 7 days, as usual, and now two weeks later, I'm spotting a brown, in my underwear, but when I wipe it's a light red. Could I be pregnant, or is it just my body pushing out the old blood?

Hello Anonymous,

Have you had unprotected intercourse since your last period which ended two weeks ago?

Has this ever happened before? It is a bit late for your body to be getting rid of any remaining "old blood" from your period.

It would be too early for implantation bleeding if you had unprotected intercourse since your last period.

Wait and see if this spotting increases or goes away and if your next period starts on time.

Hello Anonymous,

The menstrual cycle is regulated by a precise balance of hormones and any upset in this balance will cause irregularities.

Pregnancy is just one situation in which there are changes in hormone levels.

Have your menstrual cycles been regular up until now? When was the last time you had an exam with your gynecologist? If it has been a while, then time to schedule an appointment to find out what is causing this.
