ask: I have itching "down there" with no other symptoms. No discharge or smell. I am married, have a 16 month old, all my pap smears have always been normal. Could it just be a hormonal embalance? Is there anything that causes this other than infections?

1 sexual partner, (he has had a few but not for a long time before we got married) not on birth control. Usually is the worst right after my period. Also use "free" detergent.

Hi Anon

If you have no infections, there can be other causes.

Detergent or softener - but you may have ruled this out.

Shower gels

Douching (don't!)

Non cotton underwear

Panty hose

Sensitive skin in general

Fluctuating hormone levels

Yeast infection

Do you think any of these could be the case with you?
