She had been diagnosed many years ago with Addisons's disease. The burning she is experiencing is a fairly recent event and doctors do not know why. Doctors have not been able to figure out what is causing this, any help would be appreciated. My sister is 66 years old.

Hi Joanna

Thanks for your question and welcome!

I assume your sister's doctors have looked into Burning Mouth Syndrome? You can read a lot more about it here: http://www.empowher.com/media/reference/burning-mouth-syndrome-bms

If doctors have run a battery of tests, then one suggestion I have is that she is checked for thrush - a yeast infection of the mouth but also skin.

There is also another condition called Tinea Versicolor - read more here: http://www.empowher.com/tinea-versicolor/content/tinea-versicolor-common-skin-fungal-infection

She should work with a qualified dermatologist along with her regular doctor to see if a dermatological condition is what's going on.

I hope this information is of some help to you. Thank you for looking our for your sister and please stay in touch!
