I was sitting and looked down at my toes and they were dark purple. I've never experienced this before. I am in good health other than hepatitis c which I've had for 35 years. I ran 4 miles on my treadmill this morning and don't have a breathing issue unless I'm walking uphill. I'm a 60 year old woman, I take very good care of myself... eat right... exercise everyday...and get plenty of sleep. No symptoms like fatigue. I had hormone implants 3 months ago which was new for me. I've taken hormones but this procedure is new. The implant consists of testerone & estrogen & I orally take 400mg of progesterone at night. I love the way I feel and my sleep is wonderful... no night sweats or flashes. I'm 5'3'' & weigh 128 lbs. I am a hairstylist and work full time standing on my feet.... I've done this for 42 years.

Are all of your toes dark purple, or just one of them?
Are you saying your actual toes are purple, or your toenails?
If more than one of your toes are purple, you need to call your doctor. (In other words, one toe or toenail may have been "stubbed" and is bruised, and this can be OK if you sustained a toe injury).
You can be in perfect health, be used to standing on your feet, but your symptoms are telling you that there is something that needs to be looked at by a doctor.
If you literally looked down and your toes were fine earlier in the day (putting on your shoes, for instance), then later in the day they are ALL suddenly purple, you need to be seen by a doctor TODAY. A sudden change in your extremities needs to be seen immediately, to rule out circulation issues (something that can be treated if caught early).
Please call your doctor, go to an emergency clinic, and let us know how you are doing.
