Plan B side effect or pregnancy?

Hello.
Three days after my period ended, I had sex with my boyfriend. I wasn't ovulating. We used a condom, but it broke. We went and got the plan B pill right away, and I had taken the first pill less than an hour after it happened. I didn't feel sick while taking it like I was warned I might, and thought everything was fine. Now, 5 days later, I am experiencing some light spotting which is a dark brownish with a little light pink. My period isn't due for about 2 weeks. Is this implantation bleeding or just a side effect from the plan b pill? Please help, I am so scared!

Hi, me and my lover had sex and the condom broke. Maybe 2-3 hours later I took plan b. Now almost a week later I started to spot for 2 days . Now I'm bleeding like a period but I'm not expecting mine till another week this has been going on for about 5 days now. Is it implantation bleeding? Or just symptoms from the plan b?should I be worried? I had PMS side effects right before I started to spot. Am I pregnant? I'm really young and am not ready for a baby please help me

Hello Anonymous,

This is not implantation bleeding. This is breakthrough or bleeding between periods caused by taking Plan B.

You are not pregnant.

Side effects of Plan B can include nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, tiredness, dizziness, changes in vaginal bleeding, breast tenderness, diarrhea, or headache.

If you are not ready to become pregnant, but are sexually active, I suggest you start using birth control. An emergency contraceptive is not intended to be used regularly but for emergency situations only.

Regards,
Maryann

Hey. Thanks for responding so quickly on my first post. The information in that thread was pretty comforting and useful. I just have another question. This bleeding is still going on. Its not heavy but I am using a tampon just in case. Is this my actual period? Or will I still have my period in two weeks?
