Seafood makes my vagina smell

So this might seem like a weird problem but ever since I can remember when I eat seafood such as fish, scallions, shrimp, etc. It cause my vagina to have a fishy smell. Its always the next day after I eat the seafood and only lasts for that one day, then its back to its normal, odorless smell. Their is no change in discharge, its not thicker or abnormally colored, there is no burning or itching or any other symptoms. Is this normal? Could this be some weird allergic reaction? Thanks!

I thought i was nuts but last night i ate some good old fresh shrimp and now tonight my vagina smells just like the fresh shrimp. That is weird. I know I don't have an infection, its not that typical BV fishy smell, it just smells like the shrimp. It doesn't happen every time I eat shrimp, I think it may be when I eat a lot of fresh shrimp.

I have the same issue too. It first noticed it in my early 20's. I thought i had some type of infection at first because i never had this issue before.
Glad to say it was not an infection but just a way of life for me now. Every single time i eat any type of seafood i smell just like a Fish! Talapia
Seems to be the fish that gives me only a mild smell. All the others make me smell like im straight out of the sea. Sorry to be so descriptive but i hope this helps someone.

Me Too!!! omg I thought iIwas weird or imagining it. After I eat prawns my vagina gives of the same smell as prawns !!! but thank fully it only lasts a day or two, this has only been a recent thing for me and I know I am otherwise healthy . Although now thinking about it I have recently changed medications for cholesterol. Maybe different medications can play a role in this . It is very embarrassing and I love prawns but now have to think twice before eating them :(

I have the same problem. I normally do not have a fishy odor, but the day after I eat fish I also have a vaginal odor. I know this is not an infection because I might only eat fish occasionally and smell this ONLY after eating the fish. It is good to know that others notice this too. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I never let him get close enough to that area to smell it when I think it's smelly.

I will agree !00% with you. White fish is worse than oily fish such as salmon and tuna. There is nothing you can do other than wash/cleanse & wait at least 24 hrs for the secretions to have passed through the vagina. It is a fact that - "You are what you eat." Any food will emit an odor that is passed through the pores as perspiration & throughout the secretions after the body has processed the food.

Fish sauce and strong meats will also be a culprit. I tend to avoid white fish altogether & opt for salmon which is better for you. I can do without the "fishy business."

It is horrible!! I have the same thing and its too embarrassing to even ask friends or family if they have it! I think it must be rare because there isnt alot about it even on the Internet. I wish there was something I could do to avoid it as I love seafood/fish. I have to think about what I am doing the next day as the smell is that bad. I would NEVER eat fish the night before having to work! It really sucks!
