Is there a good hospital in LA that does back/spine surgery?

Hi I'm asking this for my friend Sadie. She lives in LA and has been having a lot of back issues. Her regular physician suggested that it is probably time to think about having back/spinal surgery. She wants to go to a good place (obviously!) in her area that can help her and ease some of her fears, etc. I have visited this site before and have seen people asking for recommendations for doctors in certain areas so I thought I'd ask about LA and good back/spine hospitals. Thank you so much.

Hi Susanc,

Thank you so much for your reply and help! This is really good information and I've already shown it all to Sadie. I showed her this whole website while I was at it and she's really impressed. she said to tell you she feels better already knowing that she has choices and stuff for her treatment. Bless you all!

Dear Anon

Thanks for your question and for looking out for your friend!

A good bet for you is to contact the North American Spine Society at www.spine.org - they provide a search option for spine specialists in the area required.

SMISS - The Society of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery have a list of many specialists in California - you can find it here : http://www.smiss.org/find-a-doctor.php

And your friend can also try Cedars Sinai Spine Center in LA here : http://www.cedars-sinai.edu/533.html- as well as UCLA's Spine Center here : http://spinecenter.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=26

Her ultimate choice of doctor will be her own, of course, and make sure she knows to choose carefully, do some research and that her doctor is highly qualified.

I hope this helps - back and spine conditions are tough to live with - we wish her the best.
