What are my chances of getting pregnant if i missed one pill and made it up ASAP?

I missed one pill Thursday night, in my third week, but made it up as soon as i woke up on Friday morning. I also took my pill about 3 hours late on Saturday night, which would have been my last active pill. My boyfriend and I had sex soon after. We used a condom, but it broke. He had already went shortly before we had sex. He went inside of me not knowing the condom broke, but he barely went. What are my chances of getting pregnant?

Hello to the last couple posters on this question,
Please let us apologize for not answering your questions timely. The answer to all your questions as posted is there is always a possibility of becoming pregnant when you have sex as there is no 100% guarentee that you will not even on birth control. If you miss taking your pills, you certainly have a higher possible risk of pregnancy and taking added precautions such as condom use is beneficial.

Unfortunately, we cannot tell you for sure if you are pregnant. You all will have to wait until you miss your period and take a pregnancy test. Time will only if any of the above situations will result in a pregnancy. Can you all please keep us updated? I am curious to know if any of the above posters actually got pregnant.

Good luck to you all,
Missie

Okay. I have a question now.. I went to california to visit my boyfriend for a month. I never really take my birth control the same time everyday but around the same time. My mom sent me my next pack of pills & I missed one day due to postal shipping I took it with the other pill the second I got it. A week later my boyfriend full on came inside me. Should I worry as much as I am?

Hi! I am a little concerned..my boyfriend and I had sex on a night I missed my pill, which I know since I doubled up the following day my chances of getting pregnant do not change much. However, 4 days later, I began getting a brown discharge which is not normal for me. Could this be from missing the one pill? Or what are the possibilities of it being implantation bleeding? I took a pregnancy test which came back negative...but isn't it too soon to tell considering my period doesn't begin for another 11 days? Thank you for any help!!

Missing one pill (assuming you are using the combined birth control pill) and then taking it as soon as you remember does not decrease the pill's effectiveness rate. You would still have the same 99% effectiveness, assuming you take all of your pills each day at about the same time.

Hello I am on the 2nd year of taking Alesse birth control pill and i forgot to take one pill on the tuesday of the third week, i did not remember to take it until the time i had to take it the next day (which i took 2hours later than usual due to work) when i noticed that i had missed the previous day i took two that night but my boyfriend and i had sex the night before he used a condom but it broke and now im worried that i may be pregnant, alesse is an active combination pill. Could someone let me know what my chances of getting pregnant are? i'm really worried?

As long as you took the missed pill the next day ("doubled-up"), the effectiveness would not decrease significantly. There are no exact numbers, but women who miss one pill and take it as soon as they remember do not have an increased chance of pregnancy.

Since you took your missed pill, and the following pill, late by a few hours, you may have a slight decrease in effectiveness, but one day of a missed pill does not typically effect the pill's effectiveness during the third week.

Hi Anonymous,
It sounds as if you are not pregnant. The pregnancy test was negative and you are now experiencing spotting which I would assume is your period as it is that time. I think you can rest assured your not pregnant.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Missie
