What are my chances of getting pregnant if i missed one pill and made it up ASAP?

I missed one pill Thursday night, in my third week, but made it up as soon as i woke up on Friday morning. I also took my pill about 3 hours late on Saturday night, which would have been my last active pill. My boyfriend and I had sex soon after. We used a condom, but it broke. He had already went shortly before we had sex. He went inside of me not knowing the condom broke, but he barely went. What are my chances of getting pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,
It appears that you take your Yaz normally and missed them a few times but never more than 24 hours. You should be fine although there is always the chance of pregnancy. If you are already in your 3rd day of your sugar pills, you can try a pregnancy test. Certainly, it can be stress that causes delays in your period and this is very common.

I think taking a pregnancy test will calm your nerves a little. Try it and let us know the results.

Good luck,
Missie

Hi miscortes, thanks for your response. I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago and I was negative, though that still didnt calm me much considering I have been told it takes time. This morning I got a little bit of dark brown spotting discharge, so Im not quite sure what to make of it.

Hi everyone. I am on my 4th month of yaz now and during the 2nd week I took my pill late by 5 hours two days in a row. The next day my boyfriend and I had sex although he did withdrawal. About 5 days later I missed a pill because I was out of town (I usually take it at 7 pm) but took it as soon as I got home in the morning. I am now on the third day of my sugar pill (out of 4) and quite frankly am freaking out. Am I most likely pregnant or can it just be stress related (I have been really stressed with school and my breakup, to the point where it is effecting my sleep). Please let me know what my chances of pregnancy are!!

I missed my second pill of my first week. I have might blesses and usually take it in-between my first and second class on tuesday. I didn't even realized I missed the one for Tuesday until a few hours after I took one for Wednesday. So I took it when I realized I hadnt taken it. My husband and I also had sex without a condom. Should I be concerned?

Missing one pill does not increase your chance of pregnancy, when you take that missed pill as soon as you remember (the next day).

Hi! I have been on the pill for 4yrs in January. And with the same partner for 4yrs in May. I was on Ortho-Tri Cyclone for the first 2yrs, and switched (due to abormal bleeding) to Ortho Cyclone. On a side note, the current pills have just started to cause swelling while I am on my period. This has happened the last three times I have been on my period. First, I got checked and was told it was a yeast infection, but it is really possible for a yeast infection to come every period and leave after my second active pill with no treatment? (I will be going to my doctor this upcoming week for a check-up)

My main concern: I had never missed a pill until yesterday! I didn't even notice until I took my pill today (11am), so I doubled up and took my missed pill as well. Now, I was just on my period, therefore I missed day 3 of my active pills, and it just so happens that my fiance and I had sex without a condom yesterday around 12:30pm. I am concerned that my chances of pregnacy will be increased. Should I consider taking Plan B? And what are my risks for becoming pregnant in my situation?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice,
Cat

Well, it is now too late to take Plan B. But because I missed a pill three days after my inactive pills ended, I was wondering how much it increases my chances of becoming pregnant.

Missing one pill will not significantly increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Your patient information brochure (provided with each prescription) will detail how to make up missed pills, so as long as you took this one missed pill as soon as you remembered, your chances of pregnancy would not be significantly higher.
