What is the story with low levels of DHT?

What are the negatives and symptoms of low out of range DHT (Dihydrotestosterone)?

What are some ways to increase DHT levels in females? What can one take for that?

Could that be a reason for sparse public hair?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your question!

DHT is a male sex hormone that women also have and yes, it is a great contributor to hair loss/ thinning hair although it's high levels that cause it, not low levels. In women, low levels can mean less body hair so this may be the case with you.

For women, low levels of DHT don't cause many issues, aside from less body hair. It's men who are highly affected by low levels.

As for what to do about this, we have a 5 part series that can give you a lot of information. You can start here for part 1 - the articles aren't too long and are worth the read: http://www.empowher.com/reproductive-system/content/androgen-supplementa...

I hope this helps and thanks for writing
