What types of exercises and what frequency are effective for building bone in healthy 50's year old post menopausal women?

It's good to see you taking care of your body. Fifty is not even approaching old but there are different needs for every decade of life and as you mentioned, bone health is really important for women in their 50s, most of whom are going through menopause. 

Weights are good for bone health and strengthening. Cardio is very good for burning fat and yoga is great for strength and body toning. All exercise contributes to good bone health. A healthy diet with plenty of calcium is also important.
