Sub-Conditions
Blood vessels include arteries that carry blood away from the heart and veins that carry blood back to the heart. Blood vessels can weaken and bulge out (aneurysm), or be partially blocked (stenosis) by clots or cholesterol plaques (atherosclerosis). Inflammed blood vessels and different degrees of damage occur with the conditions vasculitis, phlebitis and polyarteritis nodosa.
