Sub-Conditions
The pituitary, a pea-sized organ at the base of the brain, is called the "master" gland because it secretes hormones that control other glands like the thyroid, adrenals, ovaries and testes. Pituitary disorders cause over stimulation (Cushing's Disease) or underproduction of hormormes (hypopituitarism) and lead to a range of symptoms depending on the organs affected.
