Francine explains how she calmed her fears about the hip replacement surgery.
Well, first of all, I was scared. I was scared to death, and I did not get myself unscared, but I read somebody’s, I am very wide reader and I started reading, which, by the way as well, I love this site, I started reading very widely about other people’s experiences. And, I actually read about a guy who was so scared before his surgery that he had a heart attack on the table, and so I was like, “Okay, I have got to deal with that and I will use yoga to do that.” And then, the other way that I dealt with it was by putting myself in the best physical shape I possibly could, like I started doing water aerobics and swimming and riding an exercise bike, anything that I could do that would keep me in shape to not die from the anesthetic, not, you know, have a heart attack on the table, and have as short a recovery as possible and as complete.
