Personal Chef Melissa Costello describes Candida and explains how it will affect a woman's body.

Chef Melissa Costello:
Candida is basically a yeast in the body that thrives off of sugar and when you have Candida in your body, you will constantly crave sugar. So the best things to do if you find that you have Candida in your body or if you get a lot of gas and bloating, if you have a lot of low energy or skin problems, it most likely means that you might have this yeast in your system.

So the best things to do are to eat very clean, as we have been talking about, and eating meals that have minimal amounts of sugar or no sugar at all so that your body, that the yeast won’t feed off of these sugars and basically yeast multiplies in your body and when that happens the Candida just grows and grows and it can cause skin problems, digestive issues as I mentioned before. So eating really clean, a lot of vegetables, leafy greens, nuts and seeds, grains are really good, specific types of grains, but just basically eating really clean.

There’s a lot of condiments you can’t even use like soy that will sometimes upset the yeast or the Candida in your body. So just basically eating really light, simple, clean food will help combat that.
