Dr. Kogan:

My two personal favorites for smoking cessation, and we do lots of it here at Doctors at Trump Place Longevity Institute, are hypnosis and electromagnetic pulsation wave therapy. Now, without making this sound like a voodoo therapy for you, I am going to explain that hypnosis and auto-training and deep relaxation techniques, yoga breathing, and imagery techniques are all part of the same approach to smoking cessation.

This involves the person teaching themselves, with the help of their health provider, to focus on the inner side of themselves and to send messages to their subconscious to disconnect smoking from the craving. We are hoping to stop the craving by creating this disconnect between the cigarette and whatever images and signals come with it and the person’s subconscious.

As far as the electromagnetic pulsation wave treatment, this is a revolutionary treatment that comes to us from Europe, predominantly Germany and Austria and Holland. There are clinics in Germany and Holland, which are devoted exclusively to smoking cessation based on electromagnetic pulsation waves. We use a machine called ONDAMED®, which provides a very safe non-invasive and very quick way to root out any sort of craving for nicotine.
