At Banner Gateway Bariatric Center what we do is we provide information seminars in the beginning and when you come for your one-to-one consultation, which happens right after, you can expect good care in terms of not just extending the medical care to you and to your family in terms of trying to get all the information necessary for you to have safe surgery, but also, and that’s I think one of the key things about our program is the education part that one receives, not just for you but your family.

Support groups, nutritional support groups, psychological support groups, education physiology, nutrition education, nursing education so you can recognize some of the problems that can arise from this procedure.

About Dr. David Podkameni, M.D.:
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dr. Podkameni started his general surgery training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York in 1996. He then returned to Brazil, where he became board certified in general and pediatric surgery. Dr. Podkameni finished his minimally invasive/laparoscopy training at the Cleveland Clinic in 2004. He serves as medical director of the Banner Gateway Bariatric Center. Dr. Podkameni specializes in Bariatric Surgery and General Surgery.
