Acknowledging how great my life already is instead of waiting for it to turn out has given me many happy, satisfied years. Like many of you, I have been getting a lot of bad financial news lately. Fortunately, I still have much to be grateful for.
Thanksgiving is a nice tradition because it provides us with a ritual, a turn at the table where we can share the things we are thankful for.
My top 10 list:
1. being born: my parents for their genes, their shelter and the preparation for life they gave me
3. food: access to nutritious, healthy food and lots of water
4. husband, Ray: thoughtful, handsome, smart, fun, partner in all endeavors
5. friends: off-line and on-line
6. internet: I’m addicted
7. moments in Kauai: this is a very special place
8. mixing: interesting gatherings, anywhere
9. my current projects: stimulating
10.my past experience: privilege and a pleasure, no regrets

Great post Linda and thanks for kicking off what I hope will become a tradition... Sharing what we're thankful for. Here's my list ...
- Family and friends -- A wonderful group of vibrant, generous people;
- Health -- Aside from a broken foot, I've been very healthy;
- Surroundings: Arizona has a rugged, unique beauty and of course fantastic weather;
- The arts: Music, literature, paintings, sculptures -- all great for stirring the soul;
- Technology and innovation: In medicine, in communication, in engineering -- we live in amazing times; and conversely
- Life's Big and Little Mysteries: While we've made big gains in learning about our environment and our bodies and some giant leaps forward in terms of convenience, sometimes nature teases us with what she hasn't revealed, and to me that is very exciting;
- Different cultures: We have so much to learn from one another and so many similarities;
- Freedom: Our political system may be flawed, but we have opportunities others will never know;
- The ability to work;
- My turtle: She listens to my problems without judging me.
What are you thankful for this year? Please share your thoughts.
