Hi I am 45 years old, and am just about to undergo an ankle fusion. Not to bore you to much..... I had a bad accident when I was 18 which resulted in years later finding out my leg bone had been set 30 degrees out,,,,, so for many years I have walked with a limp unknowinginly wearing away bone and tendons etc. I was diagnosed correctly 3 years ago and have since had a long operation to straighten my leg and make it the right length by the insertion of a titanium rod thru my bone..... uck! I have since had my bone shaved etc etc to no aviail.... and now am left only with the choice of ankle fusion....HELP................. can anyone give me advice I'm quite scared...after all past surgery they tell me it is a long operation 6-8hrs worried as I have a 5 year old. Please any advice?? x
