Hello Anonymous,

Without your fallopian tubes, the egg cannot become fertilized and an embryo cannot reach your uterus for implantation.

That being said, it is not possible for you to conceive naturally. In vitro fertilization may be the option for you.

According to Melissa C.Stoppler, M.D. speaking for emedicinehealth.com, explains, "[In vitro fertilization is] a method of assisted reproduction, a man's sperm and the woman's egg are combined in a laboratory dish, where fertilization occurs. The resulting embryo or embryos is/are then transferred to the woman's uterus (womb) to implant and develop naturally. Usually, two to four embryos are placed in the woman's uterus at one time. Each attempt is called a cycle. "

This is an expensive procedure that you would need to talk about with your physician.

I was wondering the same thing. In 2009 I had two miscarriages both at four months along. In 2010 I had an ectopic pregnancy they took one of my fallopian tubes.Than in 2011 another ectopic pregnancy. They took my last fallopian tube.Is it possible to get pregnant even though the outcome would be bad?

Hello Amber4141,

I can appreciate your desire to have a child.
However, with a tubal ligation procedure, conceiving will be impossible, unless the procedure can be reversed. During a tubal ligation, the fallopian tubes are cut or blocked to permanently prevent pregnancy. A tubal ligation disrupts the movement of the egg to the uterus for fertilization and blocks sperm from traveling up the fallopian tubes to the egg. It's possible to reverse a tubal ligation — but reversal requires major surgery and isn't always effective.

Without ovaries, there are no eggs to be fertilized. Conceiving naturally is not possible for you. Artificial insemination is a possible option. But, you need to consider your age and your history of cancer. This is a matter to be discussed with your physician.

Ok, may seem like a dumb question....but if a woman still has her period after having both tubes removed...like I have doesn't that mean a woman is still ovulating, which means you could get pregnant. If I still have my period, and my eggs can't be fertilized....how does my egg get into my uterus for my period....I don't have tubes so my eggs are going in there somewhere for me to still have a period!!

That is a question which is best answered by your fertility specialist.
It is important that you report any symptoms that you experience during this very critical time.
Best wishes,
Maryann
