I had my fallopian tubes removed due to multiple etopic pregnancies. I still have my ovaries, so can I still get pregnant?

I am 29 and just had a second ectopic which resulted in the removal of my second tube. I am absolutly devastated by what has happened in the last seven months. I had my first ectopic dec 2009. I have a 5 year old daughter and cant believe how this has happened as my first pregnancy was perfect. Is it possible for the nhs to fund ivf?

Hello,I'm new so bare with me,
Ive had my left fallopian tube removed in 1998 due to a ectopic prgnancy they had to remove the whole tube, and I tied to conceive in 2007 and they did laparscopy which indicated my last left tube was damaged and they sd it was damaged from fluid overload(which i still have questions) but unfortunately my doctor passed away...so her I am left with questions and everyone always says oh it's ok you can get invitro but for some reason I never see to have gotten over it and I'm always feeling like its just so unfair and expensive for something that should come so natrual...I guess I'm just ot over the hard part fully. i feel so broke...and I'm 29 so I get to sit and watch all my friends get prgenant and have babies...It's very hard they just say someday you will have it...I dont think they understand...ANYWAY lol...I'm just lost trying to find comfort and ppl thatare going threw what I am...Thanks and good luck to all of you who are doing invitro!!

I have just had my 2nd ectopic pregnancy and have now lost both my tubes and am absolutly devastated, just wondering if there is anyone who has gotten pregnant with no tubes as my consultant said that the tubes can heal open but is only a 1% chance :-(

I have had both of my tubes removed as well. I have not gotten pregnant. But, I do know several women that have had their tubes removed due to tubal pregnancies and they have gotten pregnant and they were successful. Their kids are now 3, 5, 10, 2, and 6. This is five women with no tubes that got pregnant. So, yes it is possible to get pregnant without your tubes. Hang in there and keep trying. Don't let others discourage you. Also (name removed) does IVF for $8,000. I hope this helps with any concerns. I have two boys and have had five pregnancies, two tubals and a premature birth. I plan to use income tax return to pay for an IVF in 2011 if I don't not get pregnant before then.

I am so sorry.

Are you interested in learning about your possibilities to conceive without fallopian tubes in other ways? Women need their fallopian tubes to conceive; that is where the egg is fertilized. There are some procedures that are very effective, including IVF (in-vitro fertilization), if you are interested in learning more.

I would be very greatful for any information that you may have. I have found it so hard to come to terms with.
Is it also true that IVF on the NHS is not available for people with children as i already have a daughter of 5...

Thank you.

I am amazed at the stories I am reading on here!! I was just doing some research on why I still have a regular period if I don't have my fallopian tubes and only half an ovary. Is it really true women have conceived naturally with NO fallopian tubes? My Dr told me the chances were null. So are there really women who truly have, or are they just mean people trying to give hope? I can't find truly REAL stories of women who have gotten pregnant naturally without fallopian tubes. I am lucky that after I had mine removed, I conceived my daughter with IVF, first time. I have come to terms that she will be an only child as I cannot afford another round of IVF, but there is still that little nag in my mind for a second child. Just to know that their is a chance, no matter how small, is something. So, is it true?
