Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your post. Try to relax and keep waiting for your period. Please read those articles I posted links to in the comment right above yours. I think it may help explain some things--like how it's difficult to get pregnant without penetration as in intercourse. It's risky what you did, but not likely you would get pregnant this way. Risky, for the most part because it's not very far from what you were doing to full penetration. You know it could take one mistake in the heat of the moment to change your life. You may want to be prepared next time if you decide to continue to be sexually active with your boyfriend, and avoid unwanted pregnancy and STD/STIs.
Good luck and let us know if you have more questions after you read the articles. We're here to help, but you need to EmpowHER yourself too so you can advocate for your own health.

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your post. I'm sorry you are freaking out. When you start to get sexually active with a boyfriend, it's all very exciting, but then the remorse and anxiety sets in, and you wonder what you did and how risky it was. I know how it is. Calm down, and take what you are feeling as a sign you need to know more about sexual activity so you don't need to feel scared and unprepared like you are. Here are a couple articles that should help. And if you haven't been to a doctor yet about your reproductive health, now may be the time to set up an appointment. At that meeting, you can ask the doctor about protecting yourself from unwanted pregnancy.

Good luck! And let us know if you have more questions after you read all the articles.

Thank you for your comment. Glad the website is beneficial for you. In answer to your question, no, sperm cannot "swim up" your inner thigh.

Hello! I have the same situation as the one above. My boyfriend and I rubbed genitals once with no protection but no contact with the vaginal opening only the clitoris. We had intercourse after that more than once but it was with protection (condoms). I took a "Morning After Pill". I have an irregular cycle, so my period has not come yet. However, I have been experiencing spotting, around twice already in two weeks and my breasts have been sore. I keep urinating but it is because of an tract infection i have been diagnosed with. Symptoms seem tell either i am pregnant or just experiencing PMS, but i took a home Pregnancy Exam and the result was negative. Should I take another test? Should I suspect i am pregnant? Thank you. your site has been very informative!! :-) :-)

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question, and for finding EmpowHER. The morning after pill is known to possibly mess up your menstrual cycle. If your home pregnancy tests are showing up negative, and it's already past when you think you should have gotten your period, you should be ok.

Hi, I'm a virgin, and my bf was masturbating so I assume there was pre cum on his hand, then he decides to rub his hand against my clits with my underwear on, so I was wondering, will I get pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,
Unless your underwear was soaked with ejaculatory fluid, you most likely will not get pregnant with your clothing on. Since you are currently "experimenting" with sexual activity, now is the time to educate yourself about what is safe, what can get you pregnant, and how to protect yourself from STD/STIs.

I got my period today, then it stopped. Its been more than a week since i had protected sex, but we rubbed genitals. However, the penis did not come in contact with the opening only the clitoris...... What is this?
