What are good things to eat, at snack time...I get hungry often, and if I don't eat I get really bad headaches.
I also have many small tears on my Achilles tendon, which is why I've gained so much weigh. But at the same time, it's making my foot worse. It was originally one small tear three years ago, now is many small tears. I need help bad before it tears all the way. I can walk, but not for exercise, it makes the pain worse. So I have to think of different ways to exercise and I haven't found one yet.

Hi kucmusic,
Thank you for your question, and for finding EmpowHER. It is great you are interested in learning how to take the steps toward a more healthful lifestyle. Do you have a general practitioner, or some other doctor you go to for your healthcare? They would be an excellent resource to help you on this path, at least to get you started. Have you been diagnosed with any conditions?
For weight loss, the key is simple, you have to burn more calories than you are taking in. That doesn't mean to starve yourself, it means you can eat healthy things fruits, vegetables, low-fat meats, some grains, in a portion controlled way, and exercise however it is comfortable for you with your health condition, and find success losing weight. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. It is important to take into consideration things like your age, height, weight, goals, health history, and others when you are developing a nutrition and exercise program that works for you. And again, it is highly admirable you are taking control, accepting responsibility, and working on building a healthier lifestyle. Keep moving, and you will get there...bit-by-bit.
