Hi Anonymous,
Susan's right...if you're having abdominal pain and painful sex, it could warrant a visit with a doctor or clinic to find out what's going on and if you could have an infection. If you do have an infection and don't take care of it, it could land you in the hospital, so best to keep on top of these things.

Hi Anonymous,

Hi Anonymous

Thanks for your question!

The bleeding you are having is likely not another 'regular' period if the blood is brown - this is indicative of old blood.

If you are also having pelvic pain along side this bleeding (which lasted 10 days) the best thing we can do is advise you to see a doctor, even though you don't think they'll be of help.

Your symptoms of vaginal bleeding out of the blue, pelvic/abdominal pain and painful sex most definitely warrants a doctor visit - a pelvic exam will probably be done and they'll go from there.
You may have an infection of some kind (or something else) or it could be something very harmless, but please do make an appointment.

Anon - is this the first month for this kind of bleeding? And how long has the pain been going on, as well as painful sex?
I hope to hear back from you soon!

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for finding EmpowHER. I'm wondering if you've had a history of ovarian cysts? Regardless, it is not unheard of to have an abnormally long period, or frequent periods like you are experiencing. Make sure to keep track of this information, and see what happens next period. Here is some information I found online that may be helpful:
Not knowing your personal history, and assuming you usually have normal cycles and ovulate normally, you may be able to still get pregnant month. So depending on how long your cycle usually is, you can guess when your ovulation days should be based on when this cycle started (July 26th)--early next week if you usually ovulate around day 14 of your cycle, and try around then.
By all means, if you have another irregular period next month, you may want to give your doctor's office a call to let them know, or take the opportunity to find a new doctor. Ask friends who they use, and think about switching if you don't like your doctor or their office.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
